Mountaineering Conditioning Group

M-Con is an ideal, a series, a dedicated group of people, a way to train for mountain fitness to help you achieve your alpine dreams.​
 

We run M-Con as a program and not as individual events. We do this because a single hike, classroom session, information discussion doesn't do much to move the needle and isn't nearly as fulfilling from our point of view either.

 

The best parts of operating this as a larger program include getting to know so many people, hearing about the wide variety of past experiences, and dreaming big dreams with newfound friends.

The primary goal of M-Con is to teach healthy training habits to support mountaineering objectives. We also have supplemental sessions on various related topics which change from season to season. In the past this has included nutrition and fueling, psychological training and team dynamics, 

 

M-Con aims to teach training for endurance sports through heart rate zone training. This group gets the introduction into this training philosophy and some tools and knowledge from others that have spent years dialing in this training approach.​
